Installation

To remove or replace a standard M-4/CAR-15 telescoping stock, simply pull out on the latch and slide the stock on or off the buffer tube.

To remove or replace a DUOSTOCK® , pull out the latch and slide the stock on or off the buffer tube.

Once installed, adjust the length of pull by pushing in on the latch. The number of adjustments will depend on the buffer tube.

The Universal M4/AR15 Tactical Duostock® fist all buffer tubes currently made. However, buyers should be aware that the various buffer tubes manufactured by different companies frequently vary incrementally in sizes. If made large enough to fit easily on larger tubes it would fit too loosely on the smaller ones. Very occasionally, the Universal Tactical Duostock® may be too tight for your rifle’s buffer tube. This can be easily remedied one of two ways:

1. Use a small amount of weapon lubricant on the tube. Often this will be all that is needed.

2. ‘Custom fit’ your Tactical Duostock® in just a couple of minutes by taking a sheet of sandpaper (100 to 150 grit recommended), roll it up and place it in the butt end of the Duostock®. Sand the last 2 to 3 inches of the interior of the stock, being careful not to sand away too much. It would be better to sand just a little bit and check the fit, then repeating, than sanding away a substantial amount of the stock and risking a loose fit.

The Colt M4 buffer tube is 0.02” smaller in diameter than other AR15 buffer tubes. While the Universal Duostock® will fit the Colt M4, it will be slightly loose. Though this has not proven to be an issue at all in operational use, it is recommended that shooters preferring not to have that small amount of play and subsequent rattle use the MILSPEC Duostock® rather than the Universal—be aware, however, that the MILSPEC Duostock® will not fit any other manufacturer’s buffer tube.

The DUOSTOCK® is sold as a replacement part. With the expiration of the 1994 crime bill, it is legal to put a collapsible stock on a rifle. However, we urge the installer and/or the firearm's owner to check with local and state laws before installation. Duostock Designs, Inc is not responsible for the installation of pr use of the DUOSTOCK® or any other Duostock Designs, Inc. related product.
